We all know the names,  but did you know the accomplishments outside of acting that he had?

Fiji, orchids, wine, humanitaian,  kindness to people inside, and outside the acting community, and many other accomplishments!

Fiji and Orchids

The Garden of the Sleeping Giant at the foothills of the Nausori Highlands, north of Nadi.  This was started by Raymond, and Robert in 1977.  

There were more than 1500 new orchids added to the worldwide orchid catalog by Raymond and Robert.  

Wine 

Yes, I would have loved to have met Raymond Burr,  as a fellow Canadian he was wonderful to watch, I think I have seen every episode of Perry Mason, and the Perry Mason movies too.

Wine - Raymond Burr Vineyard

I am lucky to be able to go to the Raymond Burr Vineyard, Dry Creek Road, Healdsburg, California numerous time.  When I arrive I go to the tasting room, get a small drink, and promptly go out to the patio, sit, and look out onto a beautiful peaceful site.  

Robert Benevides, Raymond’s partner in business and life,  wanders by always pleasant, making sure the guests are well, and can he do anything. I have a question about the cruise he hosts each year, he assures me if I need personal touch to email him directly. We discuss the latest landscaping they are doing at the vineyard, and his recent trip to the Azores.

Here comes Frank, he is the supervisor, extremely jovial,  always a smile, and I get my hug.

The vineyard hosts many events each year, many are open to the public, Portuguese themed, and then you can always join the Wine Club.  I was a few days late in attending one last year, next time will arrange schedule around the party.  The pictures from these events make you want to come and attend more.

Acting, yes I am actually holding his Emmy!!!

Barbara Hale (Della Street) is the only member of the cast still alive, she is 92, and the pictures of her show how little she has aged.  She continues to visit the vineyard and always sees Robert when he is in southern California, I thought I wanted to be a legal secretary, because of her.
