The sun is out, people are at the public markets, the fresh produce is everywhere. Children are laughing, people are bike riding, parents are chasing the little ones, realizing that by feeding them, they will thrive, and run everywhere. A skateboarder just went by
my window, oh dear,
it is getting away from him, I think he should have stayed on it!
This has been a busy week, Haley and Zayne had birthdays, two young people who are growing up far to fast, but with enquiring minds, and so kind to all they meet.
Teresa my beautiful niece came, and did my housework for me, it was very kind of her.
This morning I had it all planned out, I would get up, and walk to the White Rock Public Market, buy a slice of German apple strudel, pickup some fruit, and come home. What was I thinking? I have never been the brightest sandwich in the picnic, but I was going to try.
Having been quite under the weather of late, even not been able to go to Spokane for the Festival of Speed. If you know me, to miss that race, I had to be sick.
I took the car, and off I went the 2 blocks to the market, yes 2 blocks. Walked the market, sweating like a stuffed pig, back to the car, to sit. Then drove home. Got a piece of strudel, and some fruit, but absolutely exhausted.
It took me 3 hours to just get back to normal when I got home.
Someone (of course a doctor) pointed out to me you are 62, not 22, and you cannot keep up the pace you used to. Needless to say, I don't like his words. He says, that he is sending me to the hospital for some tests, 6 hours in emergency. What fun that was! Failure to Thrive due to being Overwhelmed with life is the problem. When parking at the hospital, I hit the telephone pole twice with my car! Never happened before, mind is not where it should have been, so I had to drive to a parking space that was a pull through!!! Test results had to be redone, as some came back weird. So I had to make some changes right there at the hospital, to let him know I would take his advice seriously. I have NO promises to do anything for anyone for the next 3 weeks.
My BFF called last night to chat, Arizona is so full of wisdom, and patience, we each listen to each others concerns, venting, and pray that all will get better, we always hope sooner than later.
We must remember we have to say "NO", even if it goes against every grain in our body to do so. We must take care of ourselves first.
As much as I want to fix the problems of friends, and family, I can’t. Also I can’t say “YES” to every request.
Patience is what I need.
I have also booked a massage with Spa Utopia in Langley. Which I am sure will help.
Take Care of each other, give the person you depend on a break, even for a few minutes, it is appreciated more than you will ever know.
hugs always
karen and charlie
